Welcome

Hi.
I hope this blog will assist us in helping us communicate better on the issues as a group. If you have any ideas or concerns for the group, please post them here so we can all add our thoughts.
I can not express my appreciation to you as volunteers and the work that you are doing.
More later, Daucie

  1. PCART has a great start with help from leaders like David and Daucie, and volunteers like Carolyn and many others. I'm confident we can do even greater things for animals in need during an emergency. Two things that will help: stockpiles of disaster supplies and go-kits at key locations in Pierce County, and licensed ham radio operators among our very dedicated volunteers. P.S. I'll be changing my handle on this blog soon, as I am no longer employed by the Humane Society as of this Saturday.

  2. Bob, you are so right. Our needs are great and your ideas are valid. We do indeed need ham radio operators and we will move forward. Let me say that it is the quality volunteers like yourself that will bring to pass great things. All of the volunteers have such great devotion to this cause and I am so honored to know you are there. Thank you for all you are doing and please remain on the team. I am sad to hear about the employment situation.
Reminder that our meeting is the 11th of March at 10 Am here at the EOC. I hope you can be here. Please share concerns you may have to put on the agenda.
    Have a great day.

PCART is moving forward

As all of you know we are in a transitional period in our economy and as the challenges are out there we will develop creativity in finding solutions. We want to thank Salvation Army, St Vincent DePaul and other organizations that are beginning to collect dog crates, leashes, and bowls for feeding. These items will be collected and added to a kit for each pet friendly shelter in Pierce County. We want to publically thank all of you who are working to gather these items. We have the best volunteers.

More to come
